Make a macramé plant or pot hanger | private class for up to 10 people

Description

On this fun, workshop with local artist Lucy Wayman, you will learn how to make a macramé plant hanger which can also double as fabulous hanging storage with the addition of a fruit bowl or jewellery pot!

With hands-on help from Lucy, you will learn the basic principles and techniques of macramé, and will build your confidence making small keyring designs. Using 100% cotton rope and a selection of coloured twines, you will then create your hand-crafted hanger. 

You can also bring along items you'd like to incorporate into your design, such as beads, jewellery and found objects such as twigs to make it truly personal.

Lucy will provide you with a helpful instruction manual to guide you through your project, which you can take home to remind you of the knots you learned.

The Arienas Collective private classes are run from our supportive and welcoming home-based environment within a Georgian mews home in Edinburgh’s City Centre New Town. We invite you to join us, leave any day-to-day worries behind, and immerse yourself in being creative.

Access to all the equipment you will use is included in the price. 

Private classes can be themed to suit the occasion, such as a special birthday, hen do, or family celebration. Just let us know when booking and we can discuss the options.

On full day classes you are welcome to bring your own lunch. Alternatively, there is a wide range of independent sit-in or takeaway delis, cafés, supermarkets and restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk. We can also provide a buffet style lunch if you prefer, just let us know your dietary requirements and budget, and we'll source some options.

PLEASE NOTE: Our workshop space is on the first-floor of a Georgian mews building and unfortunately we do not have lift access. The workshop space is in our home which is not nut free. Please let us know of any skin or food allergies before booking.

Age restrictions

Our workshops are planned with adults in mind. Many are suitable for teenagers, but some may require under 14s to be accompanied for insurance purposes. Please check with us before booking. Any complimentary alcoholic drinks are served for those aged 18 and over only; a non-alcoholic option can be provided.
