Fancy making your very own personalised calligraphy gifts?

This private class will get you and your friends into the party or festive spirit! 

On the festive-themed option, calligraphy artist, Panna Chauhan, will show you how to hand-decorate a set of 3 Christmas baubles which you will take home to hang with pride on your tree, or as the perfect, personalised gifts for family and friends. 

In the first hour, you will learn the basics of the traditional calligraphy letter-making. Then you will practice on acetate to get an idea of what it will look and feel like on a bauble, so you'll have plenty of time to experiment and play with ideas. 

You will move onto working with the glass baubles once you feel more confident, to ensure they look fantastic! As you will be working on glass, you will use special gold, silver and black pens, which will have a very Christmassy aesthetic. There will also be a range of decorative items you can use to fill your baubles.

The Arienas Collective private classes are run from our supportive and welcoming home-based environment within a Georgian mews home in Edinburgh’s City Centre New Town. We invite you to join us, leave any day-to-day worries behind, and immerse yourself in being creative.

Access to all the equipment you will use is included in the price. 

Private classes can be themed to suit the occasion, such as a special birthday, hen do, or family celebration. Just let us know when booking and we can discuss the options.

On full day classes you are welcome to bring your own lunch. Alternatively, there is a wide range of independent sit-in or takeaway delis, cafés, supermarkets and restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk. We can also provide a buffet style lunch if you prefer, just let us know your dietary requirements and budget, and we'll source some options.

PLEASE NOTE: Our workshop space is on the first-floor of a Georgian mews building and unfortunately we do not have lift access. The workshop space is in our home which is not nut free. Please let us know of any skin or food allergies before booking.

Age restrictions

Our workshops are planned with adults in mind. Many are suitable for teenagers, but some may require under 14s to be accompanied for insurance purposes. Please check with us before booking. Any complimentary alcoholic drinks are served for those aged 18 and over only; a non-alcoholic option can be provided.
